This week’s guest judge on The Masked Singer is the ever-funny Rob Riggle of Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show fame. What fans may have forgotten is that Riggle is actually former co-stars with The Masked Singer judge, Ken Jeong.
Most recognize Riggle from his various television roles, but he’s actually been featured in a variety of big-budget films. Jeong’s break-out film The Hangover, for example.
That’s right, we totally forgot Riggle plays the small role of Officer Franklin. He’s the police officer who shoots Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis with a stun gun during a demonstration to a class full of youngsters (for no reason other than it’s hysterical).
During the scene, Riggle’s character even teaches a young girl how to use the stun gun. He has her point the gun at Bradley Cooper’s character, who is trying to tell the child she doesn’t need to shoot, before Riggle screams: “Finish him!” The girl points her gun and shoots bringing Cooper to his knees.
Even in this small role, Riggle has us on the floor laughing. His quick one-liners and natural commentary during the mock-tense scene makes for a classically chaotic scene.
Despite the fact that the scene is unforgettable, we completely forgot it starred Riggle! He has certainly amped up his acting roles in more recent years, and this is one belly-laugh we can now, gratefully, attribute to him.
The Hangover is of course, a movie Jeung may be most known for. Considering how funny his role was (and the fact that a lot of his greatest scenes were either improvised or his idea) we can’t wait to see what happens when these two get together again.
In the promo alone, Riggle already says “it’s the weirdest show I’ve ever seen.”
Riggle and Jeung will reunite for tonight’s episode of The Masked Singer. During the episode, the Feisty Five will perform and another performer will be revealed. Considering Riggle will join the judging panel, there’s no doubt this will be one of the funniest episodes of the season so far. There’s no telling what these two might do.
