Acapop! KIDS is an a cappella group made up of young singers who are auditioning for Season 17 of America’s Got Talent. The group was co-founded by Pentatonix member Scott Hoying and they’ve put out some amazing covers.

Acapop! KIDS Was Co-Founded by Scott Hoying

Scott Hoying is a member of the famous a cappella group Pentatonix. In 2019, he co-founded an all-kids a cappella group called Acapop! KIDS. Their first music video went up in October of that year, featuring a cover of “High Hopes” by Panic! at the Disco.

That video has racked up over 15 million views in less than three years. Other popular uploads from the group include their cover of “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and a medley of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Somebody to Love” by Queen.

The group’s latest YouTube video (published in 2021) features a cover of “Kings & Queens” by Ava Max. However, they uploaded a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “I Learned from You” on social media in March of this year.

Acapop! KIDS also delivered an incredible live medley of Kelly Clarkson songs on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2020. The performance, featuring tracks like “A Moment Like This” and “Stronger,” brought the host to tears.

The Group Is Auditioning for ‘AGT’ Season 17

Acapop! KIDS is auditioning for Season 17 of America’s Got Talent, airing this week on NBC. Based on photos, it looks like nine members of the group will be performing on the show. According to their cast page, there are 27 members in total.

Hoying announced on his Instagram that the group will be performing a song written by Nolan Gibbons, a former member of the group who sadly passed away at 15 years old in 2020. Although Hoying didn’t state the song’s title, the group released a rendition of Nolan’s song “My Turn” this year.

The group continues to look for new members, with auditions open on their website. They’re looking for singers in three categories — upper voices, bass singers, and beatboxers. Hopefuls must be between 6 and 15 years old.
