Cher celebrated her 76 birthday this May, but she sure knows how to turn back time. It’s not a secret that the pop legend has undergone several cosmetic procedures in the past. Still, it takes much more than a simple facelift to maintain her vibrant energy and youthful glow through the decades. It’s refreshing to encounter a star who not only doesn’t deny getting plastic surgery but also supports it for various reasons. Cher also puts in hard work to make sure she’s staying healthy as well, and it definitely shows from the inside out.

Cher’s decision to undergo various cosmetic interventions came after she saw herself in the 1985 movie Mask: “I can look better than this,” she thought to herself back then. The pop icon later put a stop to plastic surgery speculations by saying: “Yes, I had a facelift, but who hasn’t?” and she also confessed that cosmetic surgeries and their results “make her happy.” The star even says she’d be ’’the first one in the line to the doctor’’ if she needed to have something done.

Another reason why the music icon may have undergone many cosmetic procedures is that getting older in the entertainment industry doesn’t pay off: “Everyone says I am terrified of getting old, but the truth is that in my job, becoming old and becoming extinct are one and the same thing,” Cher explained.
Cher openly admits that she “hates” telling people her age, and she has a hard time seeing herself become an “old lady.” She thinks that not being happy about aging is totally fine, and her message to women of all ages is that they can do whatever they want — whether they decide to age naturally or get a cosmetic treatment.
Singing and dancing on a huge stage and wearing sky-high heels is not something that most 70-year-olds could pull off, so Cher has to work hard to stay healthy and fit. She says she exercises regularly with a personal trainer who doesn’t let her “play the age card.” Cher explains that with age, “you have to work twice as hard,” but fortunately, she doesn’t mind working out: ’’When I was young, I was a tomboy. I played sports. And I’m learning to surf right now. I like that kind of stuff,’’ the star says.
Not only is she working hard on maintaining her physique, but Cher also successfully avoids all the common traps and bad habits that many celebrities face. She likes being active and ’’hates’’ watching TV and, as she ages, she pays more attention to her diet. ’’I never had to worry about a pound until I was 50. I could eat whatever I wanted. But after that, you have to work out,’’ she adds. Starting a couple of years ago, Cher has been following a plant-based diet.

Cher’s recent romance with 37-year-old Alexander Edwards wowed the world, but for her, being with younger guys has never been a problem. What’s more, she admits that men her age never really ’’liked’’ her. On the other hand, she always got along well with younger men: ’’Younger men don’t care if you are outrageous or if you have a strong personality,’’ she explains.
Although Cher and Edwards ended their relationship recently, the pop legend doesn’t seem like she’s about to give up on looking for love.
