Hayley Erbert took to Instagram this week to congratulate her husband Derek Hough on his most recent Emmy win. Hough won his fourth Emmy for choreography and dedicated the award to Erbert, who recently underwent skull surgery.
Over the weekend, Hough won a Creative Arts Emmy for choreographing a routine set to Michael Bublé’s “Higher” on Dancing with the Stars. The dancer dedicated his award to Erbert, who underwent an emergency craniectomy last month after being diagnosed with a cranial hematoma.
“Your strength and your courage this whole month has been unbelievable,” Hough told Erbert in his speech, adding, “You inspire me every day.”
On Monday night, Erbert took to Instagram to congratulate Hough, whom she called “the love of my life.” She included a photo of Hough posing with his trophy, writing that he looked “so handsome.” Erbert told Hough, “you continue to amaze me with your drive, brilliance, and commitment to excellence.”
“I have loved being able to witness and be apart [sic] of your journey this far and cannot wait to see what else the future holds,” Erbert wrote. “I love you more than anything and am so unbelievably proud of you, today and always.”

Hough and Erbert were in the middle of their Symphony of Dance tour when Erbert was hospitalized in December. They have since canceled the remaining tour dates, which will be rescheduled at a later time.
Erbert was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma due to a burst blood vessel. She underwent a craniectomy, and later another surgery to replace the part of her skull that was removed in the first procedure. Hough shared on Instagram that Erbert’s most recent surgery was a success.
Hough and Erbert tied the knot last August, having announced their engagement in 2022.
