Dancing with the Stars pro dancer Britt Stewart recently posted a “Get Unready with Me Q&A” video to her Instagram account. In the clip, she talked about her recent engagement to her former dance partner Daniel Durant.

Britt Stewart Talks About Engagement to Daniel Durant

Stewart filmed her Q&A video as she got “unready” after performing on the Dancing with the Stars live tour. One fan asked her if she was surprised when her boyfriend Daniel Durant proposed to her over Christmas.

The dancer shared that she was “very surprised,” explaining, “Daniel and I had talked about our future, and we knew that we wanted to get married and get engaged, and in a few years start a family. But I had no idea when, how he would propose.”

Durant apparently got down on one knee during a Christmas day hike with his and Stewart’s families in Lake Arrowhead, California. The couple met while competing on DWTS Season 31 in 2022. They announced they were dating about a year ago.

Another fan asked if Stewart’s cats Hudson and Orlando would be involved in the wedding somehow. She said that while she wishes they could be in the wedding, it “would be very stressful” for them. Stewart said she needs to “get creative” about how to include them.

Stewart Shares Her Journey Learning ASL

Stewart started learning American Sign Language (ASL) to better communicate with Durant, who is deaf, while they were competing on DWTS. The dancer learned quickly, and she showed off her signing ability in her latest video.

She shared that she only started learning to sign when she met Durant on the show, adding, “It started with my passion and want to teach him how to dance, and fully connect with Daniel. Now I’m just in love with the language and the community, and of course Daniel.”

Stewart and Durant finished Season 31 of DWTS in fifth place. Durant later joined Stewart on the show’s live tour for select dates.
