America’s Got Talent Season 12 winner Darci Lynne Farmer recently took to Instagram to announce an upcoming performance in her hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma. The video shows Farmer singing a few lines of what appears to be an original song.
“You tell me I have to go / And I tell you, when I get home / Mama’s gonna kill me / Daddy’s gonna kill you,” Farmer sings in the video as she strums her guitar. She sounds amazing, and it makes us want to hear the rest of the song.
In the clip, she goes on to announce that she’ll be performing at Heard on Hurd in Edmond on Saturday, July 15. Farmer teases that there will be food trucks and live music during the event, and she’ll “be performing later that night.”
The post’s caption confirms that Farmer is expected to “take the stage at 8:40pm singing some of her never before heard songs.” Although she won AGT for her singing ventriloquist act, Farmer has been branching out into original music lately.

In recent years, Farmer has been branching out from ventriloquism to pursue acting and singing without a puppet. Last year, she appeared in the movie A Cowgirl’s Song and released the track “Just Breathe.”
Farmer also surprised fans in September when she posted a video of herself performing an original song called “Someone Wake Me Up.” Then earlier this year, she debuted another fun original, this time about not wanting to do schoolwork.
The 18-year-old has also performed cover songs. Last year, she teamed up with the band American Slang for an impressive performance of Bon Jovi’s hit “Wanted Dead or Alive.” Could an album be next? We’ll have to wait and see.
