American Idol Season 21 finalist Colin Stough got fans talking when he posted a photo of himself appearing to hold a cigar. Fans in the comments encouraged the 18-year-old to stay safe and think about his future.

In May, Stough took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with fellow musician Chase Matthew, standing outside near a bonfire. Matthew is holding a can of beer, while Stough appears to have a cigar in his hand.
“You can take the boys outta the country but you can’t take the country outta the boys,” Stough captioned the post, adding the hashtags #mississippi, #nashville, and #holler.
Stough also posted a video of himself seemingly taken from the back of a motorcycle. Another cyclist can be seen passing him while doing a wheelie. The post sparked concern among some of his fans, who shared their thoughts in the comments.
“Dude keep it safe … Keep it legal we all want you to turn into an Eagle,” user @gypsymix1120 wrote. “You have a long career of beautiful music ahead of you young man!! Lots of young people are watching.”
User @mms55 told Stough, “please don’t smoke and ruin that amazing voice box of yours.”

Stough Has Teased New Music for Fans
Stough impressed fans on the most recent season of American Idol, finishing the competition in third place behind runner-up Megan Danielle and winner Iam Tongi. As part of his time on the show, he released the single “I Still Talk to Jesus.”
The singer has also teased some new music with fans on social media. Shortly after the Idol finale, Stough posted a video of himself playing guitar and singing a song called “Grab the Reins.” A few days later, he posted another song snippet. This track appears to be called “Drinking to Be Fair.”
Earlier this month, Stough shared yet another song teaser, this time for a song titled “Called Her.” It sounds like his fans have a lot of new music to look forward to.
